Dr. Foster Northrop, DVM
Veterinarian/Owner

Dr. Northrop is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he played football from 1980-1984 before entering Vet School. Foster spent time working on wild game in Africa and at the National Zoo before specializing in lameness under the tutelage of Dr. John Steele. Dr. Northrop joined Dr. Mark Cheney in partnership for 16 years before opening Northrop Equine. Dr. Northrop has honed his skills with horses from Grand Prix Olympic Equestrians to Kentucky Derby winning racehorses. He specializes in lameness and has a special talent for training young vets in the field. In 2008, Dr. Northrop was appointed to the KY Horse Racing commission board by Gov. Steven Beshear. He has served on many boards and specialty committees advocating for the horse and for horse racing. In 2010 Foster was proud to receive the Presidents Award from the AAEP among many other recognitions. Dr. Northrop is looking to expand his practice and welcomes any new and upcoming veterinarians to join him in and learn from him while caring for these great athletes.
